More About Soma

Passionate about performing arts and communication, I have indulged in writing, painting and Indian classical dance alongside a career of over two decades in business operations, stakeholder communication and project management. With a degree in Economics from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, I have always enjoyed learning and went on to study business management, project management and also take up other professional trainings in areas of editing and coaching.
While working in the editing and publishing sector, I have translated the works of renowned Bengali authors like Sankar, Nabaneeta Dev Sen, Shirshendu Mukherjee from Bengali into English. My personal favourites remain the translations namely, The Great Unknown (Kato Ajanarey by Sankar) and The Holy Trail (Karuna Tomar Kon Poth Diye by Nabaneeta Dev Sen).
I later shifted gears to work in the education sector, managing business operations in educational trusts in the UK. Being an insider in the UK education system has opened my heart and mind to several aspects of how the future generation can be nurtured into their best avatars. As an experienced Power of Coaching practitioner, promoting positive behavioural changes in individuals, teams and organisations is something I wakes up to every morning and practise in continuum.
Through the years, I have gathered experience and transferable skills from various professional and personal instances with which I created a collage to drive my passion venture, Knexup.
